You: Write speaker notes on the causes of the Dust Bowl for a three minute talk.
The chatbot: The Dust Bowl of the 1930s resulted from a combination of environmental and human factors that together transformed the southern plains of the United States into a region of severe dust storms. Sustained drought conditions beginning in 1930 reduced soil moisture across Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico, while the preceding decades had seen extensive conversion of native grassland to wheat cultivation. The deep-rooted prairie grasses that had previously anchored the topsoil were removed by mechanised ploughing, leaving the soil exposed once crops failed. High winds across the plains then lifted the loosened topsoil into the air, producing the storms that gave the period its name and prompting substantial migration out of the affected states.
That is three paragraphs of encyclopedia prose, which is exactly what makes a nervous speaker read off the page.
