Build the training loop

A school district wants to predict whether a bus will be late, so families get a warning on their phones. Below are the nine steps involved, shuffled.

Drag them into the order they actually happen, from the very first thing the team does, to the last honest measurement of how good the finished model is.

Three things to think about while you sort:

• Some steps happen once. Three of them happen millions of times, inside a loop.
• One step exists purely to stop you fooling yourself, and it has to happen before training starts, not after.
• One step is not about data or math at all. It is a decision about words, and everything downstream is wrong if it comes later.

It is graded all or nothing, so read it back before you submit.
