You will be able to

Read and write the Python a model script needs: variables, lists, loops, functions, imports, dictionaries, and files.
Load a dataset, look at one example, split it, train a model, and score it on the part it did not see.
Read a ten by ten confusion matrix and say which digits the model confuses.
Explain how the closest-example model and a small neural network each make a decision, train both, and compare them fairly.
Train a network one pass at a time, compare settings by changing one thing at a time, and choose using development results.
Submit predictions on a hidden set in the round format and write a method writeup a judge can follow.
